The cowboy (gulyás) profession has a long history in Hungary. They are the ones whom supervises, takes care of and protects the herd that entrusted to them. Their work is responsible, as the high-value herd is exposed to many dangers. A good cowboy is patient, disciplined, reliable, has local knowledge and love of nature are essential for them. The sheperd dog is the cowboy’s indispensable companion, without it the herd would go after its own head. While working, the dog does not only understood it’s master’s glance, but also guesses it’s thoughts.
